Read about my time as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in Taiwan! Not sure what to expect, what to pack, what you'll be doing, how you will learn the language, or pretty much anything? I may not have all the answers, but I do have some. Read to find out how I prepared for exchange, my experiences in Taipei, (before my computer went kaput) and my reflections and advise having come back. I hope that it can be of help. Thanks for reading, Autumn 婉秋

My Country Assignment is...
Still don't know? The answer is: Taiwan!!! Going to Taiwan is so exciting, but it's also pretty scary. There are so many reasons to look forward to going to Taiwan, one of them being that I'll most likely learn Mandarin! When I got my country assignment I was surprised, excited, a bit nervous. It took awhile to sink in. I will be going to a country that is about half the size of Indiana. With a population slightly bigger than that of Florida. It's also an island, and I have never even been to the ocean. This will be an amazing opportunity to try all kinds of new things; food, language, culture, weather, geography, and so much I haven't even thought about. My friends, especially my best friend Alice, have been so excited for me it's hard not to be excited too.
